Marshall Lindheimer, Professor Emeritus in the Departments of Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Chicago, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Bern in Switzerland during their Dies Academicus on December 3, 2011. Professor Lindheimer received the honorary doctorship in recognition of his career work relating to preeclampsia and renal disease in pregnancy.This is a great accomplishment and draws international attention to the problem of preeclampsia in the world.
